Quiet Fox

Fletcher has been learning about the pilgrims and Indians in school. Ms. Cathy gave all her students Indian names, and they made hats to wear while they played in their life size tee pee. She dubbed him Quiet Fox because she says he is so stealthy and smart. Unfortunately, this got him into a little trouble one day. When I arrived to pick him up, Cathy asked if I had spoken with Morgan (her assistant) yet. My stomach immediately sunk, "No, what did he do?" I asked. She said, "While were playing with Indian corn, he put a piece in Francis' ear. We couldn't get it out, so she had to go to the doctor." I called Fletcher over and asked him if he had put corn in Francis' ear, to which he replied, "yes mummy". All the while shaking his head implying of course I did. I was mortified, but when I called Francis' mom, she laughed about it and said they had a bit of a love affair going on. Francis is a good head and shoulders taller than Fletcher with short blond hair, so apparently this was his version of pulling her hair. We're going to have to work on his flirting technique.

Halloween 2009

Fletcher had a full schedule for his third Halloween, and although I know he still doesn't understand what's going on, he had a great day. One of the boys in his class had a birthday party Saturday morning, so all the kids got to dress up early. Unfortunately, it was 85 degrees and many of the costumes were geared for cooler weather. Needless to say there was some streaking after some of the kids got out of the jump castle. It was my first experience with that many two year olds, but the party was well organized with lots of activities. Fletcher skipped most of the indoor activities and went straight to the backyard.

He removed his Scooby Doo hood pretty quickly and was drenched in sweat within 20 minutes.

Gracie didn't seem to mind.
He loved the jump castle. He's getting one of these mini versions for Christmas. I'm excited. It's a quick way to wear him out!

His class has been learning about Halloween and pumpkins and trick or treating manners. They planted pumpkin seeds in the garden a couple weeks ago. We were asked to bring in a small pumpkin, so it would look like they actually grew one. He was very excited to show me his after they "picked" them in the garden.
"Fetch pukin!"

He has no idea who Scooby Doo is, but it was the cutest thing I could find that was cool enough for Daddy to like it. By next year, he'll be into pirate or ninjas!
