I always wanted a boy!

I am not a girly girl and the thought of hair bows and princess cartoons has never been appealing. From the moment I started to feel Fletcher move, he has been active. So much so that I joked at my last baby shower that he wanted out. Talk about mother's intuition! Well, Fletcher has not disappointed me. He's 100% BOY! He's daring and curious, constantly exploring and checking things out. With every new thing, he wants to climb it, take it apart or find the danger factor. We have to barricade the stairs, so he doesn't fall, but he has found a way to climb them anyway.

He's up 6 stairs up in this video, which makes him taller than me. The first time I saw him do this I freaked, and he looked at me like I was crazy to worry. He has no fear. When we go to the playground, he has to go for the tallest slide first, and I better not think about helping him!

This is one of his favorites, a big spiral tube. I can't even see him once he gets to the top.

He rarely lets the scabs on his knees heal before he gets new scrapes, and he always has a bump or a bruise somewhere. However, he rarely whines about it. He just gets up, brushes himself off and gets back to it. Just last week, he chipped his front tooth in the bathtub reaching for a sponge I left on the side. He cried for less than 2 seconds, then grabbed the sponge.

He loves to build things and then knock them down. We recently got him these giant legos for just that purpose.

He's becoming really independent and quite resilient now that he is almost 2years old! The best part is that he's very sweet and loving. He gives sloppy kisses and bear hugs!
